July 3rd, 1931    News - New Boston, Texas    OLD CITIZEN OF MAUD DIED LAST WEEK

T. W. Fowler, age 83, pioneer citizen of Maud, died at Marietta, a short distance from Maud in Cass County, last Thursday and his remains were buried at Maud friday.

  Terming himself "concieved of God", Paul Oakley, 20, above is held in the devine healing murder of  three year old, Bernice Clayton, at Linden, Texas.  The child's father and Oakley's brother are also held.  They are accused of having caused the child's death during "healing" rites in which they sought to  "drive the devils" out of the child, an infantile paralysis victim.
