Mrs. Pyle was was in Cass County and was a member of the 1941 graduating class of Bloomburg High School. She was preceded in death by her father, Thomas B. Anthony; her mother, Faye E. Jack Biermann, 67, of Atlanta died Monday, March 27 in an Atlanta hospital. Mr. Biemann was born April 12, 1938 in Milwaukee, Wisc. He was a retired area supervisor for International Paper and an Air Force veteran. Survivors include his wife, Jeanette Turner Biermann; one son, Donald Biermann; one daughter, Debra Groves; two brothers, Alan Biermann and Gary Biermann; and two two granddaughters, Amber Marie Brazell and Brandy Leigh Barr. Frances Irene Killen, 82, passed away Friday, April 21 in Wichita Falls. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Monday, April 24 at the Owens and Brumley Chapel with Victor Jeremiah Heydt officiating. Interment followed at Riverside Cemetery. Arrangements were entrusted to Owens and Brumley Funeral Home at Wichita Falls. Frances was born Sept. 22, 1923 in Atlanta to Homer Elbert and Willie Geraldine Jackson. She married Floyd Lincoln Killen Sr. on May 29, 1948 in Shreveport, La. She was the former director of nursing of Wichita General School of Nursing, the former director of the WFISD School of Vocational Nursing, and the Wichita General Consultant of Patient Care Services. Frances was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church. She was a loving wife, mother and friend of many. She was a missed by all who loved her. Frances is survived is survived by a daughter, Cecil Kincaid and husband, Douglas of Bellville, Texas; a son, Floyd L. Killen of Wichita Falls; and a sister, Dora Alice Jackson of Atlanta, Texas. Mrs. Blanton, the daughter of Sam and Vera Beatrice Ray Tolleson, was born April 21, 1922 in Bivins. On Feb. 9, 1946, she married Reginald L. Blanton, building 51 years of family and memories before his death on Dec. 7, 1997. Two sisters, Fay Quinn and Wanda Williams, also preceded her in death. She attended Westside Baptist Church of Atlanta where she taught Sunday school in many departments prior to her moving to Paris when she joined Immanuel Baptist Church. Rosemary Glass Alexander Dec 24, 1915 - April 15, 2006
Rosemary Glass Alexander went home to heaven on April 15, 2006. Born in Bloomburg on Dec. 24, 1915, to Vernon and Rosalie Price Glass, she live a happy life growing up on the family farm. She graduated with honors from Texas A&M at Commerce in 1936. While in collage, she was president of Sweetheart of Tooanoowa and voted Queen of May. In 1938, Rosemary married Herbert Alexander. They settled in Corpus Christi several years later opening up Alexander-Glass Agency in conjunction with her brother Vernon Glass Jr. and his wife, Mary. When World War II broke out, Herbert was stationed in San Antonio at Kelly Air Force Base. Rosemary worked with her brother, Vernon, to keep the Alexander-Glass Agency a growing business. The couple had two daughters, Rosalie and Dona. The Alexanders and Glasses were evertually joined in Corpus Christi by Rosemary's brother Weldon and his family as well as her mother. For several years, they all lived on the same block while her daughters were growing up. Rosemary was a Regent of the DAR, member of Daughters of America Colonists, president of the Women of the First Presbyterian Church and active in numerous community organizations. Several years after Herbert died in 1990, Rosemary moved to San Antonio to be near her family. She become president to the Women of the Alamo Heights Methodist Church, active in her Sunday school class and monthly cooking in the church kitchen for the "Lunch Bunch." She loved her years in San Antonio and the many close friends she made there. Rosemary felt most fortunate to have six nieces and nephews with whom she had a very special bond. To them she was always "Auntie." They stayed in close touch and were always a source of comfort, support, and pride. She also shared a close relationship with grandsons Reed Runnels, and Alexander and Max Schenker. She said her family was "the most precious people in the world to me." Rosemary was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Vernon Sr. and Weldon; nephew, Vernon Jr., who the family called "Son." Her devoted husband, Herbert, is already on heaven also. She is survived by daughters Rosalie Peters and husband Weldon; Dona Schenker and husband, Cecil; grandsons, Reed Runnels, Alexander and Max Schnecker. Nephews and nieces include Bill Glass and wife, Mavis; Marilyn Glass, Linda Horn and husband, Mike; Shep Glass and wife, Penny, Phil Glass, Mindy Pigman and husband, Harry. She was a great-aunt to Diana Thibodeaux and husband, Bill, Lindy Gohmert and husband, Rick, Patti Dean and husband, Grant, Billy Glass and wife, Laura, Bobby Glass and wife, Angela, Mindy McEachern and husband, Mike, George Horn and wife, Honey, Robert Horn and wife, Krista and their children. Also, the Austin Glass, Zocia and Isabel Pigman. Her extended family included many valued cousins, many still living in the Atlanta area. She also remained close to her sister-in-law, Jane Glass, and Herbert's sister, Peggy Alexander Cheaney. She was an inspiring friend, the most trustworthy of confidants, and a faithful Christian. Rosemary believed the "women cannot be too independent." It was the combination of qualities and beliefs the made her an inspiration to young and old. She always showed love to everyone. A family memorial service was held on Saturday, April 22 at the First Methodist Church in Corpus Christi. Entombment was at the Seaside Mausoleum in Corpus Christi. Jerry Wayne Kirby of Atlanta
left this life on April 16 in his home while holding hands with his wife
and into the arms of his mother, Louise Engling Kirby and father, Harold
Kirby, who predeceased him. He is survived by his wife, Janet Kirby and Atlanta;
three daughters and their husbands, Tracy and Albert Porras of San Angelo,
Tanya and Brian Thornberg of McKinney and Terri and Todd Woolf of Las Vegas,
Nev.; stepson and his wife, Jonathan and Lisa Kringen of Junction City, Kans.;
seven grandchildren, two granddaughter, Chynna and McKenzie, three grandsons,
Dakota Kai, Sky Louis and Kirby Wright, all of San Angelo, grandson Connor
of McKinney, step-granddaughter Claire of Junction City, Kans.; former wife
and mother of his three daughters, Carolyn Kirby of San Angelo; mother- and
sister-in-law, Dorothy Owen and Rose Casey, respectively, both of Atlanta;
best friend and hunting and fishing buddy of over 30 years, Butch Caton of
Abilene; special friends and classmates, Pete and Freda Pounds of Fort Davis;
and his favorite cousin Lisa Simon and has husband Joe of Fort Worth. A Vietnam
veteran, Mr. Kirby served 21 years in the Air Force for 1966 to 1987, retiring
with the rank of master sergeant, He graduated from Monahans High School
in 1964 and from Angelo State University in 1996 with a degree in history.
He was a Boy Scout of 15 years and actively served as a volunteer of the
Girl Scouts for 27 years. Mr. Kirby was an athlete all his life. He played
football and baseball in high school and softball whole in the Air Force
and was on the USAF European Championship Team in 1979 and first baseman.
He refereed high school football and basketball for many years. He was an
avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys and Atlanta Braves. Mr. Kirby was a member
of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6869 in Linden. Mr. Kirby survived
cancer and surgical removal of the lamyx in 1998. He availed himself to
speech therapy students at Overton Brooks VA Hospital in Shreveport, La.,
as a learning tool. He was honored on several occasions when asked to speak
before upcoming-and-coming ear, nose and throat students doctors at LSU Medical
University to Shreveport lectures were well received by standing-room-only
students and doctors at the university. Prior in the year 2000, Mr. Kirby
also lectured at Abilene Christian University in Shreveport and Texas A&M
at Canyon. Whether in a restaurant, the local Wal-Mart. or at the hospital,
children were drawn to the man with the "funny voice" which sounded like
Darth Vader of Star Wars when speaking with the mechanical servox. He always
took these times as a teaching opportunity to let them play with his "voice"
and to tell them not to smoke or use other tobacco products as he had. He
was known to most as the man with the quirky saying
"Life is supposed to be fun and my fun meter's not pegged out yet" and
to few with saying "If you mess with the bull, expect to get his horns."
Mr. Kirby moved to Atlanta in1999 with his wife and began sculpting the
lend around their home, planting over 50 trees and 150 rose bushes. A romantic,
he brought flowers to be very every Saturday in celebration of the day they
wed. He will be remembered and missed by many for his humorous outlook on
life, the sparkling mischievousness in his eyes and those whose lives he
touched in countless was as a husband, father, grandfather, best friend, teammate
and teacher. Memorial services are being held at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, April
22 and are being handled by Hanner Funeral Home of Atlanta. (pd.)

He was a member of the Atlanta Rotary Club where he was a past president, served on the board of directors, and as treasurer. He was born March 5, 1928 to Mary Jane Stewart-Davis and Jessie Davis. He was self-employed for 40 self-employed for 40 years and retired form the timber business. His hobbies were small engine repair and fishing. Shirley of Sebago Lake, Maine, and Robert Von Givinn of Avery; one sister, Emma Sullivan of Doddridge, Ark.; and one brother and sister-in-law, Donald and Shirley Davis of McLeod. Donna Ann Jones Clark, 41, of Gladstone, Mo., granddaughter of Eula Bell Barnwell McCowan, Passed away May 15 at North Kansas City Hospital. Donna was born Sept. 16, 1964 in Texarkana, Ark. She was a central services for North Kansas City Hospital where she worked for 23 years. Donna enjoyed Bingo, movies, garage sales, and auctions. She was always cheerful, doted on her nieces and nephews, and was always willing to help any of her family or friends that asked anything of her. She leaves her son, Nicholas Clark; her parents, Sara and Fred Wilken; three sisters, Susan Hooper, Mary Marin and Elane DiMascio; her brother, Christopher Wilken; numerous nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Dee Glossip. Donna was a preceded in death by her father, John L. E. Lee Self
E. Lee Self, 79, of Beaumont died July 18 at his home. He was born in Pleasant Hill, La., to Floyd and Maudie Self and has been a resident of the area since 1959. Lee graduated from Northwestern State College in 1950 with a B. A. in music and taught six years in Arcadia, La., then returned in NSC in Natchitoches, La., where he earned his Ph.D. in 1959. He came to Beaumont and spent 32 spent years at Lamar University in the education department. During his time at Lamar, he was active in many professional organizations and wifely known and respected. Throughout his total of 38 years of teaching, he touched the lives of many young people. Lee was a veteran of the United States Navy, having served during World War III aboard and PCE boat (Patrol Cruiser Escort) in the Pacific. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Alma Thomas Self; sisters-in-law, Margaret Thomas Bottoms and Gay Thomas McAlister; three nieces; one nephews; and others relatives and friends. Lee was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Herbert and Earl Self. A memorial service was held at 1 p.m. Friday, July 21 at Broussard's wife the Rev. Robert Besser and the Rev. Bill Armstrong presiding. Cremation arrangements were handled under the direction of Broussard's. Services for James Mynhier Stingley, 76, of Atlanta were held
at 9 a.m. Saturday, July 22 at Hanner Funeral Chapel in Atlanta. Interment
followed in Hillcrest Memorial Cemetery in Texarkana. Stingley died Thursday,
July 20 at Atlanta Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. He was born
March 6, 1930 in Avery to Bertha Mynhier and H. Ford Stingley. He graduated
from Texas High in Texarkana, Paris Junior College and East Texas State University.
He was a junior high principal and special education administrator for the
Atlanta Independent School District until his retirement. He was avid fisherman,
hunter and gardener. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Atlanta.
He is survived by his wife 51 years, Rudy Duren Stingley; and daughter,
Alisia Stingley of Shreveport, La.; one son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and
Valli Stingley of Rusk; two grandsons, Jimmy and Vilay Stingley of Rusk;
two sisters and one brother-in-law, Nina Goldman of Little Rock, Ark., and
Becky and Doug Johnson of Tyler; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Eastern Cass County Retired

Clifford Patterson, 89, of Atlanta went to be with the Lord on Friday, Aug. 25. Norman Ray Pyle, 67, of Texarkana died Aug. 25 in a local hospital. Pyle was born in Wecher and had lived most of his life in the Atlanta and Queen City area. He retired from Shell Oil Company after over 30 years. He is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law Billy and Teresa Raney of Texarkana; and Brian and Paula Hendrix of Texarkana; a son and daughter-in-law Dustin and Norma Pyle of Dallas; his brother Max and Joy Pyle of Corsicana; a special friend Dorothy Berry of Queen City; four grandchildren; and two nieces. Mr. Salmon was born July 1, 1921 in Linden and passed away Oct. l6. He was an Army Force veteran. He was formerly employed as a chemical operator for Shell Oil Company in Deer Park and as a branch manager for Field Enterprise Education Corporation of Sacramento, Calif. Mr. Salmon was a member of the Linden Masonic Lodge, the Scottish Rite of Dallas, Sharon Shrine of Tyler and the Order of the Eastern Star. In additional, he is survived by his grand-grandchildren, Wesley Adcock, Wyatt Adcock, Dakota Jackson, Tyler Jackson, Carson Dillinger, Jackson Dillinger, Kendra Smith, Brad Smith, Kara Smith, Emma Smith, Cassy Nugent and Justin Nugent. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, friends and special care-giver Tersa Irwin Bert attended schools in the Lewis community and Kildare. He began farming corn and cotton at an early age. At the age of 27, he entered the United States Army and served three years in WWII. Upon his return from Germany, he married Carmen Thrower on Dec. 10, 1946. They lived in the Kildare area where Bert farmer cotton, corn, and watermelon crops. In 1951 Bert and Carmen became members of the First Baptist Church of Kildare and remained members until their deaths. Bert entered the trade of carpentry and was a member of the Carpenter's Local Union of Shreveport, La. for over years ending the lifetime membership award. He was an ardent sports fan, especially to baseball. He also enjoyed his daily domino game as well as card games during his retirement years. Graveside services for Frances DeBarry Dalrymple, 100, of Tyler will be at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 25 at the Ore City Cemetery in Ore City under the direction of Hanner Funeral Service. Mrs.
Dalrymple was born Feb. 5, 1906 in Leesville to Gaston Williams DeBarry and Minnie Newby DeBarry. She died on Oct. 22 in Tyler. During her life she kept her age a secret because she believed "a lady who tells her will tell anything." As a young girl she resided in Post, Lubbock, Ralls, New Mexico and Texas City before her family moved to Ore City, where she spent the remainder of her early years. She graduated from Gilmer High School in Gilmore, graduated from the College of Marshall In Marshall and attended East Texas State Teachers College in Commerce. Her area of study was education and she used her degree to teach school in Ire City, even teaching her younger brother, Gaston DeBarry, Jr. She met and married the love of her life, Lawrence L. Dalrymple of Upshur County, in June of 1928 and moved to Jefferson. In 1929 she and Mr. Dalrymple moved to Atlanta when he secured to Consigneeship for Texaco in Cass County. She resided in Atlanta until she moved to Tyler in 1999 to be near her and family.
Mrs. Dalrymple was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Atlanta
since 1929. She taught the nursery and kindergarten church in the
First United Methodist Chrch for 25 years. In later years she taught
the What-So-Ever class and other adult Sunday school classes. Mrs.
Dalrymple was a charter member of the Atlanta Woman's Club and a 50-years
member of the General Federation of Women's Club. She served as
president of the club and was involved in all the publications of the
Atlanta Woman's Club cookbook. She was a member of Trammel Trace
Chapter of the DAR and served as the national defense chairman for several
years. She was an organizing member of the Atlanta Art League, a
member of the Mimosa Garden Club and the Tuesday Bridge Club. Mrs.
Dalrymple was instrumental in forming the Atlanta Memorial Library is
1954. She served on the library board for 25 years and became a
lifetime member of the library in 1979 when she was recognized by the board
"for her unselfish service to the library." In the 1950s
Mrs. Dalrymple began china painting. In the 1960s she began to take
oil painting lessons at Texarkana Junior College. Art became her
passion and she painted over 900 pictures. She focused on painting
bluebonnet landscapes, scene from Caddo Lake, dogwood in bloom, rural
family farm homes and upon request of her grandsons and her nephew she
began to paint wild ducks. She won many awards for her artwork.
She had a keen eye for detail in nature and wanted to portray the beauty of
God's handiwork in her art. She was preceded in death by her
brothers, Tom Ed DeBarry and Gaston W. DeBarry Jr.; and her husband,
Lawrence L. Dalrymple. Mrs. Dalrymple is survived by the daughter and
son-in-law, Deanna and Dan Olson of Tyler; two grandsons, David Lawrence
Olson of Alba and Daniel Louis of Tyler; two nephews Gaston W. DeBarry III
of Ore City and Tom N. DeBarry of Gilmer; one niece, Martha Thrash of
Plano; and several great-nieces and great-great-nephews. Memorials

James Neal "Bull" Braddock, 50, of Linden was born Feb. 25, 1956 in Biloxi, Miss. and passed away on Oct. 24 in Linden. Arrangements are under the direction of Reeder-Davis-Schindler Funeral Home of Linden. James graduated from Jefferson High School in 1974 where he developed a passion for football and rodeo. He continued bull riding for about seven more years after graduation. He into ventured into the timber business and owned the Linden Woodyard for many years. Hunting, fishing and reading any kind of books were some of his favorite pastimes. He was a generous, kind-hearted and caring person and those who crossed his path always grew to love him and felt the same admiration in return. He cherished his friends and family, shoring many memories with "my sister," Cindy, and "my big little brother," Shorty. A gathering in remembrances of James Braddock will be held Sunday, Nov. 5 for 1 and 5 p.m. at the Elmer Braddock Sr. residence in Lodi with a special tribute given at 3 p.m. Everyone is invited to come and share memories with family and friends. RALPH ELMER LINDBERG Aug. 29, 1918 - Oct. 23, 2006
Ralph Elmer Lindberg, 88, was born in Sherman, N.Y. Aug. 29, 1918 to Charles Augustas and Faminia Kropp Lindberg. He grew up on the farm, having made the farm tractor his dad used to plow and plant the fields from an old Model A car, while he worked at Welch Grape Juice plant. He served in World War II. He married Earlene Walters on June 23, 1946. They had 60 years, four month to the day together. He was an auto and airplane mechanic. Ralph was a member of Smyrna Baptist Church where he quietly worshiped his own way. Preceding him in death was his father, mother, brother, Edward Lindberg and his sister-in-law, Olga Lindberg. He us surviving by his wife, Earlene Walters Walters Lindberg; sisters-in-law, Doris Walters and Lillian Davis and family. He is also survived by living cousins, special friends and neighbors. (pd)
JOHN DRAPER CHESSER Sept. 18, 1933 - Oct. 22, 2006
John Draper Chesser, 73, was born on the family farm in Atlanta Sept. 19, 1933 and passed away peacefully Sunday, Oct. 22 in Concord, Calif. with his family by his side. He will be interred in the family plot in the Union Chapel Cemetery in Naples. Growing up John achieved the rank of Eagle Scout. He graduated from Texas A&M in 1956. After college he worked for E,G&G in Las Vegas, Nev. and was one of the Original 12 to move to California in 1965. John started his own engineering company in 1981. After his retirement 1998, he spent most of his time researching the family tree, making trips to Texas and Louisiana. John was a long-time Livermore resident. He is survived by his brother James Chesser of San Antonio; his sister, Robin Coleman and husband Thad of Yakima, Wash.; five children , Cindy Sorensen and husband Keith of San Ramon, John "Bud" Chesser and wife Lorna of Tracy; Ann Breznik and husband Hal of Brentwood; Kathryn Chesser and Jamie Flint, both of Tracy; and 11 grandchildren. JAMES NEAL "BULL" BRADDOCK February 25, 1956 - October 24, 2006
James Neal "Bull" Braddock, 50, of Linden was born Feb. 25, 1956 in Biloxi, Miss. and passed away on Oct. 24 in Linden. Arrangements are under the direction of Reeder-Davis-Schindler Funeral Home of Linden. James graduated from Jefferson High School in 1974 where he developed a passion for football and rodeo. He continued bull riding for about seven more years after graduation. He into ventured into the timber business and owned the Linden Woodyard for many years. Hunting, fishing and reading any kind of books were some of his favorite pastimes. He was a generous, kind-hearted and caring person and those who crossed his path always grew to love him and felt the same admiration in return. He cherished his friends and family, shoring many memories with "my sister," Cindy, and "my big little brother," Shorty.
