CASS COUNTY Census Indexes and Images for the years 1850, 1860, 1870, 1880, 1900, 1910, 1920 and 1930. Indexes are available on line. Images are available at our library as well as on line at the Cass County GenWeb Page listed below.

Family Tree Maker file which contains over 5,000 Cass County individuals. All information contained in this file was entered by a volunteer and has been obtained from files or books within our Genealogy Department. An index is provided on line for your assistance.

A database containing all Cass County Marriages from 1867 through 1999 listed either by male and/or female. Available in our Cass County Family History Center.

Other Resources Available in our Department

Freedman's Bank was created to assist newly freed slaves during and after the American Civil War. Records cover approximately 1865-74 and document names and relationships of those who used the bank. Although the records contain limited genealogical information, they are a valuable source of family history information for those with African-American ancestry. This program is located on the computer in our genealogy department.

· To collect and preserve genealogical and historical material, and make it available for public use.

· To bring persons together who are researching their family history and to promote fellowship and co-operation among them.

· To publish and disperse genealogical material.

The Genealogy Section of the library is normally staffed from 1 to 3 each weekday.
