Getting a card, renewing materials, placing holds, etc.


Who can Get a Library Card

The library services are free of cost to all residents of Texas.  Its services shall be available to all out-of-state residents for a fee to be set from time to time by the Board and approved by the City Council of Atlanta.


How to Get Your Library Card

Proof of residency must be presented when applying for a borrower's card.  All applications must be signed in the library except by a person who is physically unable to come to the library.  Children between the ages of five (5) and 17 may receive a borrower's card with a parent/guardian signature.  Parents and/or guardians are responsible for any fines or fees incurred by minor children.

Renewing Your Borrowed Items
Items may be renewed by bringing the items into the library; by calling the library; or by logging in to your library account HERE 


Library Fines

  • Fines for overdue printed materials & audio books are ten cents per day, per item. Fines for overdue movies are twenty-five cents per day, per item. Fines can be adjusted at the discretion of the Library Director. *Fines will not exceed half the item's cost. Fines on record for two years will be expunged. Patrons will still be responsible for the cost of the lost material. **Study guides, such as ACT, GED, TASP, etc. require a refundable deposit. This deposit will be half of the current value of the book's replacement cost.
